Calculator method

InputHow it's used
Hourly rate£55 (low) to £100 (high) for 2 movers and a van in London (published range)
Move sizeBilled time before driving, calibrated so a typical move (5 miles, ground floor at both ends, self-packed, weekday) lands inside the published London guide for its size: single item 0.67–0.875 h · 1-bed 5.5–5.75 h · 2-bed 8–8.5 h · 3-bed 12–12.5 h. Sizes with no published guide are our own interpolation: a few items 1.75–2.5 h · studio 3.5–4 h · 4-bed 15–17 h (assumption). Billed time is longer than time on site: it includes loading, unloading, depot travel and minimum charges
DistanceDrive time at 8–12 mph (typical London speeds including parking)
Floors without a lift+15 to 25 minutes per floor, scaled by move size; with a lift, a small fixed allowance
PackingMaterials £10–£15 plus about £15–£35 per room-equivalent; full packing adds 1.5–3 h per room-equivalent
Dismantling+0.5 to 1.5 h
Weekend/eveningHigh end +15% (assumption)
Congestion Charge zone+£18
Minimum2 hours (1 h for single items, 1.5 h for a few items)

How the calibration works: low end = billed hours × £55, high end = billed hours × £100, with the billed hours for each size solved from the published guide (national guide plus the 35–40% London uplift) and rounded to a quarter hour, so the default estimate is within about 5% of the guide shown next to it. The published size guide is shown next to each result as a cross-check. Real prices depend on volume, access, parking and timing. Once bookings open, your partner mover will give you a fixed quote.
